About LICEF Malata Campus

Malata campus also known as Licef foundation school hosts Nursery to Grade 2. It was opened in January 2012 and was a relocation of the Foundation and Lower Primary section from LICEF Burma campus. This led to an increase of teaching staff from 24 to 38. The number of students also increased from 360 to 480 and classrooms from 12 to 16.

Pre-school attendance is for two years. For the initial nursery intake, the child must at least be three and a half years old (3 years and 6 months) as at January of the year of enrolment. The classes are of a mixed gender with a maximum number of 30 students per class. These classes are handled by highly trained class teachers and teacher aides.

The timings for this section are 08:00hrs to 12:10hrs Mondays to Thursdays and 08:00hrs to 11:25hrs on Fridays. No uniform is prescribed for pre-school pupils and they are encouraged to bring their own nutritious snacks and drinks. Stationery for this section is provided by the school.

The Foundation section lay the ground work for the future. Through their playing and learning, students gain skills that ultimately help them learn to read and write. It also helps to build their Math and Science skills such that by the end of pre-grade, learners will have acquired important and desirable skills and concepts in readiness for Grade One.
